Sunday Bowling Green Weather Update

Real-time Bowling Green weather radar:

Today, 10/25 – Showers Early; Mostly Cloudy – High 66˚ / Tonight – Mostly Cloudy; Slight Chance of Showers – Low 52˚

Good morning, Bowling Green! As we head into the next several days, the weather outlook will be somewhat wet and dreary. A cold front has allowed for cooler temperatures to enter the region, with highs in the 60s for the end of the weekend and beginning of the workweek. These temperatures may feel a bit chilly in comparison, as we just hit 80° on Friday!

With the cold front moving out of our region and toward the southeast, high pressure at the surface should give us some dry time today. Showers will linger this morning, but will clear out for the latter part of the day due to the infiltration of drier air from the north. Even with the rain out of the area, mostly cloudy skies will continue to stick around for our Sunday.

Tonight looks to be mainly dry, but a shower of two cannot be ruled out for the early morning hours. Lows will drop into the low to mid-50s overnight.

Monday, 10/26 – Mostly Cloudy; Rain Chance Late – High 67˚ / Monday Night – Rain Likely – Low 55˚

The start of the week calls for the return of the rain chances/not so good “Jackson’s Orchard weather”. We’re looking at mostly cloudy skies with the slight chance for scattered showers for Monday. These rain chances look pretty isolated for most of the day, but a shower cannot be ruled out. Temperatures will climb back up into the upper-60s, which is more representative of the average high for this time of year.

Rain chances will ramp back up Monday evening and into the overnight hours with lows dropping into the low to mid-50s.

Tuesday, 10/27 – Showers Likely – High 65˚ / Tuesday Night – Showers Likely – Low 58˚

Tuesday looks to be the wettest day of this 3-day forecast, so be sure to have your umbrella handy! The remnants of Hurricane Patricia will bring moisture from the Gulf into our area in the form of a large low pressure center. This, in conjunction with an upper-level trough (dip in the jet stream) will surely provide enough support for rainfall Monday night onward.

The map below shows the quantitative precipitation forecast from 7 PM Monday to 7 PM Tuesday; our area is forecasted to receive over an inch of rain for just that 24-hour period.

The timing and movement of this low could change over the next few days, but Tuesday looks like it will receive the most rain during this forecast period. Temperatures Tuesday will remain in the mid-60s with lows dropping into the upper 50s overnight.
