Windy Kentucky Disc Golf State Championships

Real Time Bowling Green Weather Radar:

Today 10/3 – Scattered Showers; Cool; Windy – High 55° / Tonight – Mostly Cloudy – Low 50°

That pesky upper level low will begin to move to the east of the region today. As it begins to depart, scattered showers will spread through the region. Strong high pressure to the north and relatively strong low pressure to the south will produce a tight pressure gradient across the region. This will translate to wind out of the north around 10 – 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph possible.

in regard to the Kentucky Disc Golf State Championships, the wind speeds will be a problem for the open disc golf courses, such as Kereiakes Park, Lover’s Lane Park, and White Park. No lightning or thunder is expected, so no delays in tournament play should be expected. Who knows, maybe the wind will help you ace?

Showers should begin to decrease in coverage across the region as the evening continues. Mostly cloudy skies are likely overnight with a low around 50°. Wind speeds will still be around 10-15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph possible.

Sunday 10/4 – Partly Cloudy – High 75° / Sun Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 59°

A much better day is in store for Sunday as a ridge begins to build into the region. Conditions will still be fairly breezy though as wind speeds will be around 5-10 mph, with gusts  as high as 25 mph possible. However, partly cloudy skies can be expected with a high around 75°.

Once again, not ideal wind speeds for disc golf, but at least rain won’t be an issue on Sunday!

Sunday night will bring partly cloudy skies with a low around 59°. Wind speeds should hover around 5-10 mph.

Monday 10/5 – Mostly Clear – High 79° / Mon Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 56°

A beautiful day is shaping up for Monday! Mostly clear skies will be in place due to relatively low moisture being in place across the region. Highs will also make a run towards 80°! Be sure to get outside when you get off work or get out of class!
