Here at WxOrNotBG, we have begun to implement a new post every Sunday evening previewing the week ahead. In light of that, I am going to begin posting a review of the previous week each Saturday night, highlighting the major events that occurred, etc. So, with that being said, here is your *cue awesome music* WxOrNotBG Week in review for August 16th through the 22nd.
Well, this past week was fairly interesting. It was a lot less boring than the week before that! I mean, granted, the week before was filled with nothing but incredible weather and temperatures being quite pleasant! I mean, I guess I shouldn’t complain about that.
This past week was a bit up and down in terms of weather conditions across the state. Sunday followed suit of its predecessors, producing pretty awesome weather across the region, with sunny skies and warm conditions.
However, Monday wasn’t so great. Clouds hung very tough across the region, with some heavier rainfall falling across the southern and eastern parts of the state. Honestly, rain has become something that I feel like everyone is incredibly sick of at this point.
It fell all day across most of the region, creating incredibly dreary conditions, across the region. It was pretty good nap weather, though, and I am sure many of you fell asleep on your desks at work that day.
Totals were rather light across the region, with the highest amounts falling across eastern KY.
This would end gradually across the region, with skies clearing (relatively) across the region. Tuesday was actually kinda really boring, but super nice. There were clouds dotting the skies in a warm environment ahead of the next cold front that would move through.
By Wednesday afternoon and evening, we were having heavy rainfall moving through the region. No storms became severe, but we did experience lightning and torrential downpours. This was really fun to be out in, as I got soaked in it (not). Oh well, life goes on. We didn’t have an major issues with flash flooding or severe weather damage, so that is always good.
Annnnnnd, this front cleared out the humidity, and ushered in cooler conditions for the rest of the week. Thursday and Friday were both incredibly beautiful days, while Saturday wasn’t so great. Also, Thursday produced one of the BEST sunsets I’ve ever seen.
Worldwide, tropical activity was crazy this past week. You had two Super Typhoons in the western Pacific, Major Hurricane Danny in the Atlantic, and two other tropical systems in the central Pacific. This had tropical forecasters like:
Some of the cooler images from all of this past week did come from the various tropical systems this week.

Well, that about wraps it up for this past week! Who knows what will happen this next week…..?
