Today 6/8 – Scattered Strong Storms – High 86° / Tonight – Isolated Showers – Low 66°

A cold front will move closer to the region throughout the day today. This cold front produced numerous thunderstorms on Sunday night over southern Indiana that will be making their way through the region today. A few storms will be possible this morning.

After these thunderstorms depart from the region, an unstable atmosphere is likely to develop as afternoon high temperatures reach around 86°.  With the given parameters expected to take shape, another round of showers and storms will be possible.  The Storm Prediction Center continues to advertise us in a Slight Risk for severe storms this afternoon & evening:

There will be enough shear in the atmosphere to keep additional thunderstorms organized. Severe wind gusts and large hail, as well as heavy rain, will be possible with any storms that form during the afternoon.

With the give boundaries in place, a few isolated tornado spin ups will be possible as well. The SPC has a 5% probability of a tornado occurring within 25 miles of you today:

Scattered showers may stick around during the evening and overnight hours, as lows drop to 66°.


Tuesday 6/9 – Mostly Sunny – High 85° / Tue Night – Mostly Clear – Low 62°

In the wake of the cold frontal passage, high pressure will settle back into the region. This will leave us with a nice day across the region. Mostly clear conditions will be likely with highs around 85°. Maybe time to check out the pool?

Mostly clear conditions will persist into the overnight hours with lows in lower 60s.


Wednesday 6/10 – Partly Cloudy – High 90° / Wed Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 67°

A frontal boundary will be located well to the north of the region on Wednesday. Southerly surface flow will be established across the area, bringing the heat back into the region once more. An increase in moisture will allow for partly cloudy skies to develop with a high of 90°.

Partly cloudy skies will persist overnight with a low of 67°.
