Well, we go from arguably the best day of spring (Saturday) to the worst day of spring thus far (today) in just a few short days. Thats why it’s so fun to forecast around here! Kentucky is just great. The forecast today does involve rain, so….

Anyways, take an umbrella out the door. That’s all I can say. This is one of those days that you just kinda wanna stay in a take a nap, you know? Sadly enough, most of us can’t do that. SO at least you aren’t spending another “nice day” at work! Rain will predominate the morning hours, with the heaviest of the wet stuff passing through during the morning commute. By mid afternoon, activity should die down to cloudy skies.

The HRRR model below is valid for 10am, and shows lingering showers hanging around through this time, with the most intense precipitation well to our north.

There will still be significant cloud cover across the region, acting to keep temperatures in the low to mid 60s. This will make almost everyone angry.

Overnight, it looks like clouds will hang tough throughout the region. Though rain will mainly be out of here, we should still see those tough clouds around. Look for lows to bottom out in the lower 50s.

Wednesday: Partly sunny. High of 70ºF. Wed. night: Partly cloudy. Low of 55ºF.

Well, after a cloudy and gloomy Tuesday, Wednesday does bring a lot of hope because Friday is in sight!

After you do a mini dance around your desk, you may as well get back to work. We should be looking at fairly nice conditions returning to the region, with clouds clearing out nicely and allowing the sun to get through to us to warm us up. Look for highs to end up in the upper 60s and lower 70s across the region with partly sunny skies.

Now, there is a threat for some showers and storms to fire up in the evening hours, so stay aware of that possibility.

Overnight Wednesday looks pretty good, with clouds coming in and out of the region, and lows ending up in the mid 50s. Look out for some showers and storms late.

Thursday: Partly to mostly cloudy skies, with morning showers. High of 72ºF. Thur. night: Increasing clouds, with a low of 57ºF.

Thursday looks to be an interesting day, as it may start of pretty cruddy, but get a lot best as we go along. That sounds kinda nice, actually. We should see some morning showers moving through the areas as you get ready to go to work, but nothing too major.

Things actually look to get fairly nice by the afternoon, with skies becoming partly to mostly cloudy and temps warming into the low to mid 70s across the region. This will give a nice break from the kinda awful weather of the previous two days.

Going into the overnight hours, things look good as we pass in between disturbances. Clouds should be increasing, however, ahead of the next system, and this will keep lows in the upper 50s.

Thats all I have for ya. The extended looks to feature even more chances at some rain and storms, but that is for another forecast! Be sure to check out @WxOrNotBG, @WarrenCountyWx and @wkuCHAOS on Twitter for the latest real-time updates.
