This afternoon: Sunny skies, temps around 64ºF. Tonight: Clear. Lows around 42ºF.
Isn’t this nice? After a week of muggy, uncomfortable weather, we are rewarded with incredible weather. Oh, how nice a change up this is. It feels like spring for once! Many of us were awoken by some nasty thunderstorms that rolled across the state last night, and this was the crescendo of a week in which multiple rounds of thunderstorms had rolled to our north, but never impacted BG.
In the wake of the passing cold front, we have seen super nice weather move into the region as high pressure settles over some states to our west. This will keep the temperatures down across the region with northerly winds pumping drier air into the region. Check out the temps that the HRRR is spitting out for late this afternoon.
Those are pretty sweet. I don’t know about you all, but this weather makes me really happy. As we head into the evening, cooler weather will still dominate the region and will carry us into the overnight hours. With skies clearing, look for lows to fall into the lower 40s across south central KY. This has me like…

How in the world does it get better than this?
This is probably the best weather weekend of the year thus far. It is sunny, warm and dry. It cannot get better, actually. Forecasters are getting a much deserved break from craziness, and I am happy I get to forecast for this weekend as it is actually relatively simple. Highs tomorrow will be in the upper 60s with light breezes and low dewpoints.
Tomorrow night will be much of the same across the region as the high pressure continues to restrict cloud cover across the region. Thus, look for clear skis and lows in the mid 40s.
Sunday: Wow. Sunny again. High of 75ºF. Sun. night: Increasing clouds. Low of 58ºF.
Well, it looks like its gonna be a nice day again! Is there a point where this kind of weather could get boring?
I say no. Skies will be mostly sunny across the region, and with the high sun angle, look for temps to rise into the middle 70s, with a southerly breeze. This will create perfect weather for an afternoon nap outside.
Going into the overnight hours, the next weather maker will move into our area. Look for temps to be held in the upper 50s under mostly cloudy skies. Some precip is possible late, but that’ll mainly occur during the day on Monday.
