Real-time Bowling Green weather radar:

Today, 3/11 – Patchy Morning Fog; Partly Cloudy – High 64˚ / Tonight – Mostly Cloudy – Low 45˚

Good Wednesday morning, Bowling Green! After some patchy fog this morning, today will end up being a great break from the rainy mess that is this week. The day will begin cloudy, but some sunshine should peek in by the afternoon, allowing for partly sunny skies. Temperatures will be similar to yesterday, at a few degrees warmer than average for this time of year; highs are expected to reach the low to mid-60s.

Clouds will be on the increase once again tonight, as the next system approaches our area. Lows will drop into the 40s by the late overnight hours.

Thursday 3/12 – Mostly Cloudy; Rain Chances Increasing – High 62˚ / Thursday Night – Rain Showers – Low 57˚

A Gulf Low will bring plenty of moisture for substantial rainfall to close out the workweek, but Thursday morning will begin dry. As the low moves northward, warm temperatures and moisture will advect into the region, allowing rain chances to increase during the afternoon and evening hours. The warm front associated with the aforementioned low pressure will move through our area Thursday night, causing winds to shift southerly by the early morning.

Tomorrow, temperatures look to be similar to today’s with highs in the low 60s. As for the low, temperatures will drop only into the upper 50s before the warm front passes, causing temperatures to rise once again during the early morning hours Friday.

Friday 3/13 – Rain Showers – High 65˚ / Friday Night – Cloudy; Showers Likely – Low 55˚

Rain showers will continue Friday and into Saturday before the low pressure system finally tracks northeast and a cold front swings through. For the time being, however, the workweek looks to end on a rainy note, with temperatures hitting the mid-60s on Friday. Basically this week has brought us great temperatures, but with a side of rain… There’s always a catch.

When it’s all said and done, this system could bring 1-2″ of rain to the area. There is some good news, however: we should be seeing a dry spell Saturday night through Tuesday as high pressure builds in. Right in time for WKU students to return to school…
