All Eyes On The Winter Storm

**Winter Storm Warning In Effect From 1AM Monday – 12AM Tuesday for all of south central Kentucky**

There’s been no major changes to the forecast.  The National Weather Service in Louisville expanded and slightly shifted the heaviest snow band a bit to the north.  Regardless, significant snow totals are still expected across the majority of the area by Monday evening:

This matches up well with our own projected “Worst Case Scenario” snow totals from earlier this afternoon.  Confidence is still very high that we see at least see 6-10+” out of this.  As the values go up, confidence lessens.  With that being said, significant (absurd, actually) snow totals aren’t out of the question:

At the moment, scattered snow showers are tracking east out of the region.  This is just the start of what’s to come.  On and off snow showers will return as the night progresses, eventually evolving into widespread, heavy snow by daybreak Monday.

The following HRRR simulated radar loops every hour from 3am to 8am Monday morning.  This should give you a better idea of how this system will unfold:

Snow showers will continue through much of the day, eventually tapering off by early evening.  If you haven’t prepared, please do so now.  Frigid temperatures will follow what is anticipated to be a significant snow event through the rest of the week.  This means the snow will not go anywhere for quite some time.

As always, stay in touch with @WxOrNotBG and @WarrenCountyWx for the latest real-time weather info.  Have a safe night, and strap yourself in for tomorrow.  Thanks for reading.
