The Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) satellite picked up an awesome image last night of the snow over the northern Ohio Valley. The full moon allowed for the satellite to pick out features that normally wouldn’t be visible at nighttime. The snow came as a consequence of the heavy snow event that affected portions of the Chicago area. Check out the image below.

The VIIRS satellite image of snow caught the attention of the national media, being shared by the Weather Channel, Wunderground, and other various outlets. It will be pretty darn cool to see what technology is developed in the next few years!
