Snow Likely Wednesday Night

Real-time BG Radar:

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high of 45ºF. Tues. night: Partly cloudy skies. Low of 28ºF.

This is the one day I have wished for clouds. I really, really wanted to be the guy who was able to make a Groundhog’s day joke about the clouds and continuous forecast for them, but I was a day late on that one.

What is a young meteorologist to do? Oh well. Today looks awesome. The clouds look to clear out behind this past system, and look to give way to mostly sunny skies. Although temps will start off cooler in the morning, it looks like temps will take a great rebound in the afternoon with the sunny skies and southwesterly flow that develops at the surface. Look for highs in the mid 40s as a result.

Overnight Tuesday looks very similar, as clouds kinda stay out of the area in general ahead of the next weather maker, which is gradually sliding towards us. Temps look to stay up as southwesterly flow never fails to ruin forecast highs and lows. And forecaster self confidence.

Wednesday: Increasing clouds towards the evening. High of 53ºF. Wed. night: Way different from the day. Cloudy, with snow showers and windy. Low of 23ºF

Okay, Wednesday just looks insane.

Our next weather maker will make a very abrupt appearance, and leave its impacts for the days following. Wednesday day actually looks pretty nice until mid to late afternoon, when clouds begin to increase rapidly. I feel like we will see enough southerly flow ahead of front, in addition to sunshine, to shoot us into the low and maybe mid 50s in some spots.

Then the evening comes in like a train, and brings with it the cold…

That front is gonna hit us like a stack of bricks. Not only will you feel the front, you will be able to hear it. Winds should howl for a bit behind this cold front. Then, temps look like they’re gonna plummet from about 40ºF when you go to bed to about 23ºF when you drop the kids off at school.

Additionally, it is looking as if a round of light snowfall is gonna come through Wednesday evening behind the cold front. This doesn’t look like another #blizzardof2015, but the snow will be arriving closer to dawn and with temperatures plummeting, it could creates some travel issues.

Thursday: Gradual clearing; cold – high of 27ºF Thur night: Clear – low of 19ºF.

Ahh, back to relatively normal weather. Before you get your day going, be sure to be aware of any travel issues you may face in the morning commute. Because of the rapid temp plunge, and the snowfall, there could be some slick spots around the area on Thursday morning, so keep that in mind.

Anyways, Thursday looks fairly ordinary. Temperatures will be cold, though, so make sure to bundle up. Temps look to rise into the upper 20s at best, with gradually clearing skies. Overnight Thursday looks cold, but very nice as skies will be clear and temps in the upper teens.
