Wednesday’s Bowling Green Weather Update

Real-Time Bowling Green Weather Radar

This Afternoon – Increasing Clouds; Sct’d Rain Showers – High 46º / Tonight – Mostly Cloudy; Rain/Snow Mix — Low 32º

3pm 46º – 6pm 40º – 9pm 37º – 12am 35º – 3am 34º – 6am 32º

Mostly sunny conditions kicked off this Thanksgiving Eve as chilly temperatures prevailed today. Highs this afternoon managed to climb into the mid 40’s here in southern Kentucky as the unseasonably cold weather persist.

The remainder of your afternoon and evening will feature increasing cloud cover as a quick hitting clipper system dives into the Commonwealth. Mostly cloudy skies will win out by early evening with scattered rain showers moving into the area shortly after.

As precipitation slides through the heart of the Bluegrass state, colder air will quickly filter in behind the clipper system. This will allow a transition from rain to snow tonight.

The NAM 12z run hints towards a transition from rain-snow around midnight or so.

Accumulations look meager at best, as warm ground temperatures will cause most snow to melt upon contact.  This is nothing to get excited about.  A dusting of snow, if anything, will be possible on grassy/elevated surfaces through early Thanksgiving morning.  A few of us may get lucky and see more, but it sure doesn’t look likely.

If you are traveling tonight, take the extra precaution as a few isolated slick spots will be possible on the roadways. Otherwise, snow tapers off from west to east early tomorrow morning with lows right around the freezing mark.

Thanksgiving – Partly Sunny; Few AM Flurries – High 40º / Thu Night – Partly Cloudy; Cold – Low 25º

Outside of a few flurries across Bowling Green Thursday morning, our weather will shape up quite nicely for the holiday. The aforementioned system will quickly trek to our east and clear the area by late morning. Clouds will decrease through this period leading to partly sunny skies by the afternoon hours with highs right around 40º.

Partly cloudy conditions hang tough through the overnight period as temperatures dip into the middle 20’s once again. No reason to go outside anyway….just eat and eat some more! Happy Thanksgiving!

 Go! Go! Go!

Fri – Mostly Sunny; Chilly – High 46º / Fri Night – Partly Cloudy; Cold – Low 39º

Not a whole lot changes by Friday, or should I say, Black Friday. For all your crazy shoppers and bargain hunters out there, the weather looks to cooperate for all the shenanigans. Surface high pressure will build across the Deep South while bringing mostly sunny skies and chilly conditions. Highs will warm back into the middle 40’s by Friday afternoon as the end of the week will mark the beginning of a warming trend.
