The strong cold front that is poised to bring dangerous cold and wind chill values to portions of the Rockies, has now formed a haboob along its leaning edge. A haboob is a wind driven line of dust and sand over a barren area. It is not uncommon to see these occur during the dry months, however, one in the fall is fairly uncommon. It is also a testament to the strong winds associated with a strong cold front. That front looks to impact our region tomorrow.
