Soggy Bowling Green Weather Ahead

Real-Time Bowling Green Weather Radar:

————————————————————————————————————————————–

This Afternoon – Mostly Cloudy, Sct’d Showers – High 76º / Tonight – Mostly Cloudy; Showers Likely – Low 63º

3pm 76º – 6pm 74º – 9pm 69º – 12am 66º – 3am 64º – 6am 63º

We kicked off our Thursday morning on the stormy side. A complex of rain with embedded storms worked eastward across of southern Kentucky bringing more precipitation to the area. Since then, conditions have dried out just a bit as we’ve seen a lull in activity. A few peaks of sunshine have made an appearance as highs have warmed into the low-mid 70’s.

The rainy weather will continue as the stationary front eventually situates itself right over the Commonwealth. Multiple disturbances will traverse through the region bringing periods of rain (with some embedded storms) through tonight and into our Friday. Otherwise, look for this dreary and wet pattern to continue for the next several days. Overnight lows will be mild with temps in the lower 60’s.

Fri – Mostly Cloudy; Rain & Storms Likely – High 78º / Fri Night – Mostly Cloudy; Rain & Storms Likely – Low 63º

As we look to finally wrap up the work week, we’ll do so on a soggy note. The aforementioned stationary front will meander across central portions of the state before slowly sliding southward by Friday evening. An abundant amount of moisture will reside across the area as plenty of moderate-heavy rainfall will be anticipated. A look at the precipitable water value map shows just that.

Several disturbances will work across southern Kentucky while providing multiple rounds of rainfall with embedded thunderstorms. The good news is, no severe weather will be expected. However, with rounds of rainfall over the course of Friday and into the weekend, some flooding issues will become a concern. Here’s a breakdown below.

Overnight lows will remain mild as temperatures fall into the lower 60’s. Regardless, if you have any plans Friday evening/night, be sure to keep those umbrellas handy.

Sat – Mostly Cloudy; Rain Likely – High 63º / Sat Night – Mostly Cloudy; Rain Likely – Low 56º

Just a guess here, but I’m thinking you know what’s ahead weather-wise by Saturday. Yeah, you’re right. The stationary front we’ve mentioned several times will slowly sink southward overnight Friday and into Saturday morning. Once again, several rounds of rain will work across southern Kentucky while impacting Bowling Green weather.

By Saturday afternoon, highs will only rise into the lower 60’s as extensive cloud cover and swaths of rain work through. I don’t know about you but this weekend is looking more and more like a stay inside and relax kind of set up (and watch some football for my sports fanatics out there). Nonetheless, a rain filled weekend looks likely with cooler temps. Overnight lows will dip into the mid 50’s.
