Good afternoon, all. We told you big time changes were ahead and boy is this quite the change. After a stormy early morning period, plenty of cloud cover has prevailed on this cool and soggy Friday. Afternoon highs have struggled to reach the mid 70’s as we’ve dealt with scattered drizzle/showers throughout our day.

Not a whole lot will change for the remainder of the afternoon and evening. A series of cold fronts will work through the Commonwealth (one which has already tracked across the state early this afternoon) as a secondary cold front brings the Autumn punch.

In return, we’ll hold onto the scattered shower chance through tonight, before things finally dry up. Cool air will filter across the area as lows dip into the lower 40’s. Yes….the AC to heat in 24 hours is a real possibility. Bundle up if out and about later tonight.

Yes, what you just read above for highs and lows is correct. This November-like weather will kick off the first part of our weekend as a very cold air mass settles across the Ohio Valley. Despite the chilly readings, plenty of sunshine can be expected through Saturday afternoon as thermometer readings struggle to reach the 60 degree mark.

Look for skies to remain clear into Saturday night as winds calm and we set up shop for temperatures to plummet. Overnight lows will dip into the mid-upper 30’s as some light patchy frost will certainly be possible. Otherwise, expect a quiet and cold one for Bowling Green Weather.

The second half your weekend features slightly warmer temperatures as highs rebound into the upper 60’s. Mostly sunny skies will win out for the remainder of the day before some cloud cover increases Sunday evening.

We’ll hold onto a slight chance for a few scattered showers Sunday night and into the first part of your week. Otherwise, look for temperatures to drop into the lower 50’s under mostly cloudy skies.
