Cooler Weather Sticking Around

Real-time Bowling Green Weather Radar:

This Afternoon – Decreasing Clouds – High 69º / Tonight – Mostly Clear; Chilly – Low 50º

3pm 67º – 6pm 69º – 9pm 64º – 12am 54º – 3am 52º – 6am 50º

The morning clouds will gradually begin to move out of the area throughout the afternoon as an area of high pressure moves into the region. Depending on what time the sun can finally break through, our temperatures may not crack 70 degrees. If the clouds move out by lunch we may see a high temperature creep closer to 71. Regardless, it should be quite a Fall-like day.

This area of high pressure will lead to a rather chilly night tonight as the clouds clear out leading to radiational cooling. This may help cool southern Kentucky into the upper 40s. Areas north of Bowling Green could see temps from 47 – 50 degrees while locations closer to the Tennessee boarder will hover around the 50 degree mark. However, mostly sunny skies are in store over the next several days and with the cooler air in place, quite pleasant weather will be the outcome.

Sunday – Sunny – High 75º / Sun Night – Some Clouds; Chilly – Low 54º

By tomorrow the high pressure will have moved just to our north. This will make Sunday the pick of the Weekend, Sunny and 75. Matter of fact there is a country song about this weather.

Monday– Mostly Sunny – High 80º / Mon Night – Clouds Moving In; Cool – Low 61º

The high pressure will begin to exit the region over the day Monday, however clear skies should be dominant throughout much of the day. An upper level trough with a weak surface front are set to move in by Monday night and with it some clouds will return. An isolated shower cannot be ruled out at this point for over night Monday, but the best chance for any rain should remain well north.
