Storms Return to Bowling Green Weather

Bowling Green Weather Radar:

Today 9/2 – Scattered Thunderstorms – High 87° / Tonight – Isolated Thunderstorms – Low 68°

Some thunderstorms could be moving in and around the area in the early morning hours. These should diminish in intensity as the morning progresses. The thunderstorms will leave cloud cover across the region in the morning hours. This will have a great impact on our temperatures. Highs will be around 87°. We’re not quite through with the thunderstorms just yet…

The thunderstorms will also leave numerous outflow boundaries across the region. This could play a part in more thunderstorms developing in the afternoon hours. A frontal boundary will be moving into the region throughout the day from the west. This will help produce widespread showers and thunderstorms across the region. A few storms may be strong to severe with gusty winds, torrential rainfall, and vivid lightning being the main threats.

Thunderstorms should diminish across the region in the overnight hours. You can expect isolated thunderstorms with a low around 68° for tonight.

Wednesday 9/3 – Isolated Thunderstorms – High 90° / Wed Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 68°

High pressure will begin to settle into place across the region as the frontal system exits the region. Drier air will begin to filter into the region, which will help diminish thunderstorm chances across the region. However, I’ll keep isolated thunderstorms in the forecast due to any anafrontal precipitation behind the frontal system. Highs will rebound into the upper 80s and low 90s.

Precipitation should come to an end by the afternoon and evening hours. Thus, you can expect partly cloudy skies overnight with a low around 68°.

Thursday 9/4 – Isolated Thunderstorms – High 91° / Thur Night- Partly Cloudy – Low 70°

Upper level ridging will work back into the weather picture on Thursday. This means all storm systems will likely track to the north of the region. This will leave any significant widespread thunderstorm chances to the north. However, we could still see some isolated thunderstorms across the region during the heat of the day. Highs will be around 91°, and it will be humid. Summer again. Yummy.

Thursday night will bring diminishing storm chances as we lose energy from the sunlight. Partly cloudy skies can be expected overnight with a low around 70°.

That should wrap up this post. Be sure to monitor the above radar in the event that storms form across the region. If a warning is issued for your area, do not hesitate to take shelter. Be sure to follow @WxOrNotBG for all the latest Bowling Green weather details.
