Tuesday’s Bowling Green Weather Update

Real Time Radar For Bowling Green Weather:

This Afternoon – Partly Cloudy, Warm – High 91º / Tonight – Partly Cloudy, Mild – Low 68º

3pm 91º – 6pm 89º – 9pm 82º – 12am 74º – 3am 70º – 6am 68º

The upper level ridging has continued to bring the region fairly nice weather as warm conditions have prevailed for our Tuesday. Afternoon highs have soared into the upper 80’s, lower 90’s once again while dewpoint values have managed to stay in the upper 50’s.  However, this feature will begin to weaken and work eastward allowing an increase in cloud cover through tonight.

Otherwise, look for partly cloudy and calm conditions as temperatures remain mild. Overnight lows will become more seasonable as thermometer readings dip into the upper 60’s.

That’s worth an applause.

Wed – Partly Cloudy; Sct’d Storms – High 90º / Wed Night – Mostly Cloudy; Sct’d Storms – Low 68º

Wednesday will start a rather active weather period for south-central Kentucky. An approaching cold front will dive southward from the northwest providing plenty of lift across an increasingly unstable atmosphere. However, it looks like coverage will remain scattered with folks to our north seeing better chances. Nonetheless, keep those umbrellas handy as development remains possible across Bowling Green.

Afternoon highs will continue to climb into the upper 80’s to right around 90 degrees. The latest model guidance seems to paint a good mix of sun and clouds through Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Look for scattered shower and storm activity to remain across the forecast area through the overnight hours. While storms remain hit and miss, heavy rain, gusty winds and lightning will be primary threats. Overnight lows will be mild once again with temperatures in the upper 60’s.

Thu – Mostly Cloudy; Sct’d Storms – High 85º / Thu Night – Mostly Cloudy, Sct’d Storms – Low 67º

The slow moving cold front will continue its trek southward across the Ohio Valley Region. Several upper level disturbances will slide through the area sparking chances for scattered showers and storms throughout the day. Due to the movement of the front, storm activity will be more concentrated across southern Kentucky.

Afternoon highs will be slightly cooler with readings in the mid 80’s. Extensive cloud cover and expected rainfall will help keep those temperature readings a tad cooler.  Any storms that develop will bring the chance for heavy rainfall, gusty winds and lightning. The latest precipitation forecast hint towards moderate rainfall amounts through Friday morning. But at this point, anything will be welcomed.
