Near Record Lows For Bowling Green

Real Time Bowling Green Weather Radar:

This Afternoon – Mostly Sunny, Pleasant – High 79º / Tonight – Mostly Clear, Chilly – Low 55º

3pm 79º – 6pm 76º – 9pm 71º – 12am 61º – 3am 57º – 6am 55º

It’s been a gorgeous day for Bowling Green and all of southern Kentucky as highs have struggled to reach the 80 degree mark. Mostly sunny conditions along with these unseasonably cool temperatures have made for a pleasant day as drier air filters in across the region.

Surface high pressure will continue to nose in from the west while dominating our weather over the short term period. Look for mostly clear skies tonight as winds calm by early morning. Patchy fog will likely develop late tonight/early Tuesday as a few extra minutes may be needed for the drive time to work.

Otherwise, look for near record lows tonight as temperatures drop into the mid 50’s. I don’t think we get quite as cool as the record set back in 1965 of 53 degrees, but we’ll get close.

Wed – Mostly Sunny; Very Nice – High 83º / Wed Night – Partly Cloudy; Chilly – Low 59º

The aforementioned surface high pressure will continue its eastward progression through midweek as winds begin to shift. In return, afternoon highs will be a touch warmer as temperatures rebound into the lower 80’s. Regardless, dewpoint values will remain in the mid 50’s as comfortable conditions persist.

How about that forecast, eh?!

Much like the past couple of nights, temperatures will be unseasonably cool. Look for partly cloudy skies through the overnight hours as temperatures drop into the upper 50’s to right around the 60 degree mark.

Thu – Mostly Sunny; Warmer – High 86º / Thu Night – Partly Cloudy, Cool – Low 64º

The weather pattern towards late week will remain calm as surface high pressure continues to dominate our area. A more noticeable wind shift will occur as highs begin to warm near seasonable conditions. Temperatures will soar into the mid-upper 80’s for Bowling Green under mostly sunny skies.

Once again, another nice night will win out for Thursday as temperatures drop into the lower 60’s under partly cloudy skies. If you’re unable to enjoy the day because you’re stuck at work, grab the family or friends and head out to the SOKY Fair. For late July, you couldn’t ask for much better weather than this!
