Thursday Morning Update

Real Time Regional Radar:

Today 7/24 – Partly Cloudy; Pleasant – High 80º / Thu Night – Partly Cloudy; Cooler – Low 61º

6am 70º – 9am 71º – 12pm 75º – 3pm 80º – 6pm 76º

Good morning, there have been a few showers around the area early today especially to the east as the cold front that swept through yesterday hangs just to our south. Clouds this morning will clear out quickly as the cold front keeps pushing farther south.

Behind the front, we will get a cool down today. High temperatures in the upper 70s/lower 80s with dew points around 60° will make for a fantastic day and relief from this week’s humidity.

Cumulus clouds will cause  partly cloudy skies today as an area of surface high pressure settles into the Great Lakes region and keeps things quiet around the area. Lows tonight will be on the chilly side with temperatures expected to drop down to about 60°.

Fri – Partly Cloudy; Pleasant – High 86º / Fri Night – Partly Cloudy; Cool – Low 67º

Another beautiful day is on tap tomorrow. Winds will turn to the west, making things a bit warmer but we will still only see temperatures in the middle to upper 80s. Check out the latest forecast from the WPC showing high pressure just to the northeast of our area by tomorrow morning:

Lows tonight will be a bit more mild as we start to see warm air advection ahead of our next area of low pressure that will bring rain chances to the area this weekend.

Sat – Partly Cloudy; Hot – High 93º / Sat Night – Mostly Cloudy; Scattered Thunderstorms – Low 74º

The heat and humidity will return by Saturday as a result of a warm front passing over the region Friday night. Highs on Saturday afternoon will be in the lower 90s with partly cloudy skies. Later in the afternoon, clouds will increase as a weak frontal boundary from the north approaches the area.

By Saturday night, scattered thunderstorms will become possible as the frontal boundary drifts southeast. Some of these storms could even be on the strong side as there will be plenty of instability for them to work with. We will have to keep an eye on the potential for some of these storms to become severe.

Looking ahead, rain chances will continue on Sunday before we see a big cool down next week.

That’s all I’ve got for this morning, get out and enjoy the cooler weather today. For real time weather updates be sure to follow @WxOrNotBG and @WarrenCountyWX.
