An 8.0 magnitude earthquake was recorded 24km southeast of Little Sitkin Island, Alaska just before 4 PM CDT this afternoon. As a result, tsunami warnings have been posted for parts of Alaska. Some meteorologists have noted some possible tsunami waves on tide gauges in Alaska.
