More Rain Chances

Real Time Regional Radar:

————————————————————————————————————

This Afternoon – Mostly Sunny; Pleasant – High 83º / Tonight – Mostly Cloudy; Sct’d Showers – Low 66º

3pm 82º – 6pm 81º – 9pm 75º – 12am 70º – 3am 68º – 6am 66º

Our Thursday has shaped up to be a relatively nice day as plenty of sunshine has made its way out with warmer temperatures in the lower 80’s. The upper level trough has finally pushed east of the Commonwealth as a few lingering showers and storms affect eastern Kentucky. Back across our neck of the woods, things are calm and comfortable.

As soon as this one system clears the region, our next begins knocking on the door later tonight and into Friday morning. This quick moving system will bring the unwanted cloud cover back across western Kentucky as the chance for scattered showers will be possible late tonight/early Friday.

Overall, I think our Thursday will remain dry as we finally catch a break from the scattered showers and storms for once. I agree….that’s worth a fist pump.

That felt good.

Fri – Mostly Cloudy; Sct’d Showers/Storms – High 79º / Fri Night – Partly Cloudy; Chilly – Low 57º

The aforementioned system will edge closer to the Commonwealth as the associated cold front brings another chance for showers and storms Friday morning. This weaker system will have little to work with as the environment will be moisture starved leading to lighter precipitation amounts for Bowling Green. Rainfall totals will range from 0.10”- 0.20” for the area.

The good news is this system will quickly work through southern Kentucky by mid-late afternoon as conditions begin to clear out by the evening hours. Drier and more comfortable air will begin to settle in as high pressure dives southeastward into the region by Friday night.

Partly cloudy skies will eventually mix out late Friday night with chilly overnight lows in the upper 50’s. This will set the stage for a great start to the weekend.

Sat – Mostly Sunny; Nice – High 83º / Sat Night – Mostly Clear; Mild  – Low 64º

The weekend will arrive in great fashion. Highs will remain on the comfortable side as less muggy and pleasant conditions hang tough. High pressure will be situated across the Ohio Valley Region while dominating our short term weather. Mostly sunny skies will be the case for all of Saturday before temperatures really begin to warm up.

Sunday will mimic Saturday in many ways as mostly sunny skies win out. The only difference will be those temperatures as the warmer and muggier conditions begin to creep their way back into the forecast. Look for highs to ramp up by mid-week as 90 degrees appears very possible with more rain and storms chances expected.
