Another Cool Day Ahead

Real-Time Regional Radars:

——————————————————————————–

This Afternoon – Partly Sunny; Chilly – High 63º / Tonight – Mostly Cloudy; Stray Shower – Low44º

3pm 62º – 6pm 59º – 9pm 53º – 12am 49º – 3am 46º – 6am 44º

Unseasonably cool temperatures continue to hang around Bowling Green as highs remain well below normal. Although highs will be a few degrees warmer today, brisk westerly winds around 10-15 mph have certainly added a chill to the air. We’ve had a good mix of sun and clouds along with the development of a few scattered showers and storms across Warren County.

The pesky upper level disturbance will slowly track eastward across Indiana and Ohio later this evening before clearing the region by tonight. In return, we’ll keep the scattered chances for showers and storms in the forecast this evening before surface high pressure builds in and takes control. And yes, another chilly night is expected for Bowling Green as lows dip into the mid 40’s. Track any activity with the regional radars provided.

The verdict…chilly. My thoughts too.

Sat – Mostly Cloudy; Few Sct’d Showers – High 64º / Sat Night – Partly Cloudy; Chilly – Low 46º

6am 45º – 9am 54º – 12pm 61º – 3pm 64º – 6pm 62º – 9pm 56º

The aforementioned surface high pressure will continue its track into the heart of the Commonwealth Saturday morning. This high pressure will be our friend and act somewhat as a shield from possible precipitation Saturday. Another disturbance will slide along the Kentucky/Tennessee border bringing light to moderate rainfall across the Volunteer state for much of the day.

The latest model trends have pushed the precipitation shield slightly north into our neck of the woods. With that said, we’ll keep a slight chance for a few scattered showers here in Bowling green early with folks closer to the state border seeing more activity. Highs will remain on the cool side before conditions start warming up by Sunday.

Our trusted friend finally makes an appearance as high pressure slowly works across the state Sunday. Cloud cover will begin breaking away overnight Saturday and into Sunday morning before mostly sunny skies win out. Temperatures will finally begin warming back towards more seasonable conditions as the end of the weekend looks great. You’re exactly right, that’s worth a dance…excuse me.

Oh yeah….Break it down now!

Temperatures will continue the warming trend through much of next week with plenty of sunshine and summer-like thermometer readings in the low-mid 80’s.
