Today 4/29 – Partly Sunny; Scat’d PM Storms – High 78˚ / Tonight – Scat’d Showers & Storms – Low 52˚

6am 58˚ – 9am 67˚ – 12pm 75˚ – 3pm 78˚ – 6pm 70˚ – 9pm 61˚

An upper low remains lodged to our northwest, which will send an associated cold front east across the region this afternoon.  This feature should help fire off rounds of scattered showers & thunderstorms.  Here’s a look at how today’s surface conditions will shape up:

The SPC has included us in an enhanced risk for severe weather late this afternoon and evening.  Our atmosphere remains primed for inclement weather, as we’re caught in the warm sector of the weather system.  With rays of sunshine expected to be present this morning, instability parameters are forecast to increase, resulting in storms potentially becoming strong to severe:

The main threats with today’s storms will be strong winds, hail, heavy rain and frequent lightning.  Although unlikely, we can’t rule out an isolated tornado or two.  Please have MULTIPLE ways to stay updated as the day progresses.

Wed – Partly Sunny – High 67˚ / Wed Night – Iso’d Showers – Low 42˚

Cold front will work to our east and leave a mix of sun & clouds in its wake to go along with cooler temperatures.  A few lingering showers may filter in on the system’s backside Wednesday night, but it’s not likely.

Thu – Partly Sunny – High 60˚ / Thu Night – Cloudy  – Low 45˚

Another day of partly sunny skies, with our cooling trend expected to continue.  Light winds out of the west/northwest will keep temps suppressed to the upper 50s – lower 60s.  A few isolated showers/storms not out of the question during peak heating of the afternoon.
