Good afternoon, we saw some isolated showers across the area earlier this afternoon in response to a cold front that is moving in from the west. Mondays haven’t turned out too well for us lately and with the rainfall we receive today, this will be the fourth Monday in a row we have received at least a trace of rain.

Rain can really put a damper on the day…

Today’s rain won’t be much of an issue and we will only see isolated showers and thunderstorms across this area until this evening. As the front to our west gets closer, we will see more available moisture and a better chance for showers and storms tonight. Take a look at what the latest run of the NAM model thinks the radar will look like tonight and early tomorrow:

The showers and storms will increase in coverage overnight, but will not be very organized. We will see total rainfall amounts from this system generally less than a quarter inch. A few locations could see heavier amounts in thunderstorms.

Tue – Scat’d AM Showers & Storms – High 71˚ / Tue Night – Clear – Low 42˚

By tomorrow morning, we will still see scattered showers and thunderstorms push east and these should be out of our area by around noon tomorrow. The cold front will pass over the area during the early afternoon and winds will shift from westerly to northerly.

These winds will help to push clouds out of the area tomorrow, but will also usher in some cooler temperatures. Tomorrow afternoon still looks pretty warm with highs in the low 70s but our low will dip down into the lower 40s on Tuesday night under clear skies. At least we will not see any freezes like we did with last week’s cold front.

Wed – Sunny & Mild – High 68˚ / Wed Night – Clear – Low 45˚

We will have a pretty chilly start on Wednesday, but an upper level ridge will keep things calm and Wednesday will shape up to be a nice day. Skies will be clear with highs in the upper 60s and lows in the 40s once again Wednesday night. Enjoy Wednesday because it looks like it will be the nicest day of the week.

Happy driving.
