Severe Weather Update

The latest data has called for a few alterations to the forecast.  The same hazards are still in play (flooding, damaging winds, isolated tornadoes), however, the system has slowed down.  This has pushed the expected time frame for heightened concern between 7pm – 1am tonight.

Flooding will become more of a concern as we get into the afternoon.  We’ll see scattered showers and storms quickly expand in coverage as the cold front approaches from our west.

A strong squall line is anticipated out ahead of the front.  The loop below is the HRRR model’s thinking on what the radar will look like from 4pm  – 8pm:

I’ll be updating more frequently @Wx_Or_Not.  You can stay in touch with me there.  There will be a conference call with the NWS at 1:30pm.  We’ll find out more details then.
