This Afternoon – Partly Sunny – High 76 / Tonight – Partly Cloudy – Low 55
4pm 76 ~ 7pm 68 ~ 10pm 61 ~ 1am 58
Upper ridge has built over the area, which will keep conditions partly sunny through this evening. Overnight, clouds will begin to increase as this ridge shifts to our east, in the wake of an approaching trough. A glance at current surface conditions across the Continental US. Take note of the cloud deck advancing toward us from the west:
Tues – Scat’d Showers – High 75 / Tues Night – Showers & Storms Likely – Low 57
7am 56 ~ 10am 68 ~ 1pm 72 ~ 4pm 75
An approaching upper level trough and associated cold front will send southwesterly flow across our region, which will transport a moist airmass into south central Kentucky. These features will coincide, creating the potential for scattered showers and storms to accompany partly cloudy skies. As the front passes late Tuesday night, it will create the best opportunity at seeing the wet stuff.
Wed – Scat’d Showers & Storms – High 65 / Wed Night – Iso’d Showers – Low 45
7am 58 ~ 10am 62 ~ 1pm 65 ~ 4pm 65
The passing of the front will keep lingering showers and storms in the forecast, while also introducing much cooler temperatures to the forecast. Get used to it, friends, as it looks like temps will be limited to the low – mid 60s through the weekend. Rain totals for the event from Tuesday – Wednesday could range up to 1″. Localized areas could see more.
That will wrap up the afternoon update. I’ll be back bright and early tomorrow morning with another update on our conditions. Have a great remainder of your Monday, and thanks for reading!
