HuMp DaY: Disturbance will pass across the region today, setting up an environment conducive for isolated – scattered shower and thunderstorm development.  No severe weather is expected, however, if we can get a few rays of sun to peek through, a few could become strong.  Partly cloudy will be the story otherwise.  Humidity will go on the increase…OH JOY (sarcasm)!  6am 57 | 12pm 78 | 4pm 81

Thursday: We’ll keep isolated storms in the forecast to go along with partly sunny skies.  Prime time for any storm development will be through the afternoon and evening, as peak heating amps up across south central Kentucky.  I expect the majority of us to remain dry, however, high dewpoints will make for a muggy feel to the air.  6am 61 | 12pm 81 | 4pm 83

Friday: The end of the work week is still looking to be the most active.  An upper trough will dig into the Great Lakes region, sending a surface cold front surging across our proximity.  Parameters are currently aligned for a potential squall line to develop ahead of the front, which looks to bring rain to the vast majority of the region.  The most likely time frame to see the wet stuff will be through the evening and overnight.  The NAM HiRes simulated radar model below displays activity for 1am Friday morning.  As you can see, a linear structure of showers and storms will be advancing our way from the west:

Although the latest data doesn’t suggest any widespread severe organization, a few cells could meet criteria, with strong winds, frequent lightning and torrential rainfall the main threats.

That’s what I’m made of this morning, friends.  I’ll return early this afternoon with another update on our conditions.  If anything were to change, I’ll be back before hand.  Don’t forget, if you have questions or comments, get in touch with me via Facebook or Twitter.  Have a great hump day, and thanks for reading!
