Welcome back, y’all! We made it to Saturday! I hope you had a great week. The warm weather recently has reminded us that summer is still around, but a cold front will bring cooler weather on the horizon.
Storm Chances Increase Today
After a relatively quiet period of weather, things start to get more active starting today. A new storm system is approaching from the west, which will swing a cold front through the WABBLES area.
What this means for us today is that storm chances will increase. We’ll start the day partly cloudy with some pretty muggy dew points. These will help the cold front kick off some storms after the 2 o’clock hour.
Some of these storms could contain some locally heavy rainfall, so be wary if driving through these storms. Temperatures today will also return to the upper 80’s, but some of us could be cooled off by those pop-ups.
We look to catch a break from the storms during the evening hours, but they are forecasted to redevelop during the overnight hours. Temperatures will cool off into the low 70’s.
More Widespread Showers for Sunday
As we head into Sunday, we can expect more showers for most of our day. This time, they’re looking to be more widespread instead of the scattered pop-ups.
Right now, models are predicting about 1″ of total rainfall through the weekend for most of the WABBLES area.
The rain and clouds Sunday will also help keep temperatures cooler than what we’ve been seeing. Highs are expected to reach the low to mid 80’s before cooling into the mid 60’s overnight.
Cooler Weather Arrives
The cold front is expected to pass us by come Monday, bringing some cooler weather in behind it. Right now, temperatures are looking to hang out in the low 80’s. Things are also expected to dry out just in time to start the new work week!
That finishes today’s forecast. Thanks for reading! Follow our live weather feed @wxornotBG, as well as on Facebook, for all your weather updates. Enjoy your weekend!
