Good morning WABBLES and happy Monday! Who is ready to start and endure the first workweek of March with me? I know, pretty crazy that yesterday was the official start to meteorological spring. The forecast is calling for a wet start to the week.
Soggy Start to the Week
Waking up and heading out the door for your morning commute, you can expect rainy conditions as you hit the roadways. Rain will be moderate with some embedded areas of heavier rainfall as a storm system moves across the Ohio River and Tennessee River Valleys.
Rain will continue to fall as we move through the afternoon and evening hours as a cold front continues to move slowly across the area. Relatively warm and moist air will advect in from the south and collide with the boundary, producing moderate to sometimes heavier rainfall. Rainfall totals across the region will hover around the 1-inch mark.
Rain chances gradually decrease from west to east throughout the day on Tuesday, especially during the afternoon and evening hours as the front begins to exit the region. Cloudy skies will be the main theme on Tuesday with high temperatures making it up to the lower 60s, with only a slim chance of showers.
Heading into Wednesday, there will be a slight break in the cloud cover during the early-to-mid morning hours. With a chance of some peaks of sunshine especially around sunrise.
That wraps up your Monday wxornotBG forecast, thanks for tuning in and I hope you all have a great day! Make sure you look for further updates on our live weather feedĀ @wxornotbg. Stay dry out there folks.
