Imagine our disdain last night as storms closed in on the area once again with strong winds, small hail and heavy rain. A quite summery close to what was otherwise a hot and sunny day…well, expect more days like that as it will be consistently sultry to finish the week.
Going to be Thirsty on Thursday (if you’re outdoors)
The pattern remains in place from yesterday as southwesterly breezes keep us warm and humid through the afternoon.
We’ll see filtered sunshine carry us through the morning and into the afternoon hours on our way to a high near 88º this afternoon.
We’ve got enough heat and humidity around the region along with just enough of a trigger thanks to boundaries left over by last night’s storms that we could see some isolated boomers out there this evening.
Any of those bubbling storms could produce some gusty winds, small hail and heavy rainfall but they should begin to wane once night falls and we slide down to a low near 70º.
Encore for Friday
The pattern rules all and that means another sultry afternoon with a shot at a stray storm. Southwesterly winds keep the heat and moisture rolling in here and boundaries could provide enough of a trigger for a spotty afternoon storm.
And again, any storm that does form will have the potential for some heavy rain, gusty winds and small hail. Otherwise, staying mostly sunny and toasty as highs again reach 90º. Overnight lows as any storms fade fall to about 70º.
A Summery Weekend
Deja vu all over again as we head into your weekend with more mostly sunny, hot and humid afternoons that feature an isolated storm potential.
High temperatures will get closer to 92-93º out there and that equals heat indices near or above 95º or so, so take those heat precautions and remember to always check the back seat if you’ve got the kiddos or the fur babies with you.
Isolated storms will be fewer and farther between but the chance will still be there during the afternoon hours both days. Overnight lows fall to the ever popular 70º mark.
