Waking up tomorrow morning, temperatures around the area will be warm and muggy with a humid airmass still in place across Kentucky. Temperatures throughout the day will rise into the lower 90s by the afternoon hours, again, if you have any outdoor plans please stay hydrated. Rain chances stick around during the afternoon hours, developing along small frontal boundaries that will meander around southern Kentucky. The main threat from this shower/thunderstorm activity will be heavy rain.

Hot Weekend on Tap
If you have plans to hit the pool this weekend, you’ve made the right decision! A broad ridge accompanied by a dome of high pressure will build into the region heading into Saturday. What exactly does this mean? This means that an abundance of warm and moist air from the Southern Mississippi River Valley and the Gulf Coast will circulate clockwise around the center of high pressure, into south-central Kentucky.

High temperatures around the WABBLES (Warren, Allen, Barren, Butler, Logan, Edmonson, and Simpson counties) region rise into the lower 90s with mostly sunny skies. Can’t rule out an isolated garden variety thunderstorm during the afternoon hours as we have abundance moisture and instability in the lower levels of the atmosphere.
Wash, rinse, and repeat as we head into Sunday and Monday. The dome of high pressure over the region will not move much, this means more sun and more heat.
