Relatively Calm Tuesday
Hey, folks! Hope everyone is doing well this morning. Today is looking like a pretty nice day within the grand scheme of things. The high pressure giving us northeasterly flow yesterday will move to our northeast today, and winds will shift to the south.
Even with the potential for clouds to hang around into this afternoon, we are expecting highs to jump up into the upper 40s and lower 50s.
That isn’t even close to the best high temp you’ll see in this forecast. Thicker clouds will move into the region this evening ahead of the next weather maker on Wednesday.
Warm and Rainy end of the Week
You know how about a month ago we got into a pattern that favored snowfall, and snow events? Well, we are now in an active pattern that supports repeated bouts of heavy rainfall across our region.
We are already running a little high on area streams, and the pattern doesn’t look to subside.
Clouds will stream into the region, and moisture will as well, overnight tonight and into Wednesday. Precipitation will blossom to our south and southwest, and move into our region between 3 am and 7 am Wednesday.
It will last much of the day, and will pour another 0.5″-1.0″ of rain onto what we already have. Highs will remain in the 50s, and it will just be a bland day altogether.
A strong jet stream will develop to our north and west and move towards us throughout the day, bringing plenty of clouds and isolated showers on Thursday.
However, we aren’t expecting much rain during the day Thursday. We expect a it to be a warm Thursday instead. Strong southwesterly flow will create breezy conditions and will likely help us shoot into the lower 70s for highs.
It is exciting. Friday is the day where everything comes crashing down. Heavy rainfall moves in again, and temperatures crash behind a cold front.
There is a chance that we see some wintry mix at the end of this system. The models are hinting it a little bit, and they have handled set ups like this poorly this year, so we’ll watch that closely on for Friday.
Thats all I have for you! Be sure to check out our live weather feed @wxornotBG. Have a great day everyone!
