Happy Saturday morning, Kentucky! I hope you are having a great start to your weekend! The active weather has not taken a break over the past week and that looks to continue into the weekend. While we will be dry for the most part, we will be dodging pop-up storms this weekend
Scattered Storms This Afternoon
We are waking up to calm conditions and mid-70s across the area. Temperatures will be making their way close to 90 degrees today accompanied by the humidity will make for a muggy afternoon. We do have a few storms just east of WABBLES currently.

Pop-up storms will litter the area later today with the potential for heavy downpours and frequent lightning. The severe threat will be little to none today and tomorrow.
These storms will gradually die as we lose daytime heating. Storms will have a tough time hanging on after dark so any activity will calm down as we head into the overnight.
Sunday and Beyond
We look for another round of afternoon pop-ups as we head into our Sunday. Temperatures will still be close to 90 degrees along with humidity making it feel even hotter. Temperatures drop into the low 70s overnight.
Storm chances will likely not be as widespread as today and yesterday, but there will still be the chance. The boundary will begin to move north a bit bringing our area out of focus for storms on Sunday.
Early next week we will be watching an approaching cold front that will bring increased rain chances across the area. Showers and thunderstorms will likely become more widespread as the front passes.
Cooler temperatures should follow the cold front with highs for the middle to late next week only in the 80s. The big relief will likely be lower humidity that will keep us from the muggy oppressive air we have been dealing with.
Tracking Hanna
Tropical storm Hanna (soon to be Hurricane) will be impacting the south Texas coast this weekend. This storm is predicted to drop 10-15in of rain while bringing storm surge to the beaches. Here is how it looks on satellite this morning.
Here is the latest information on Hanna from the National Hurricane Center.
