Showers Continue Throughout the Week

Good morning, Kentucky! Welcome back to wxornotBG. Shower chances continue throughout the week but at least we have nice temperatures to go along with it. I’ve got all the details in the post below!

Scattered Showers Possible Today

While I do not expect to see widespread, continuous showers today, I do expect there to be scattered showers and thunderstorms across the WABBLES area throughout the day. Showers should be relatively light and result in minor accumulations at best.

The good news is that with any break in the rain, you should be able to get outside and enjoy some nice temps. Our expected high temperature for today is in the low-70s, so don’t miss out on that refreshing air.

Rain Chances Again Tomorrow

Another round of rain is expected for tomorrow with a scenario similar to today. Showers will be scattered with heavier rainfall to our east. Again, any accumulation should be minor but we will keep our eye on this system in case anything shifts. The afternoon high temperature will climb back to that familiar low-70s mark, which will make for great conditions during any break in the rain.

The Weather Prediction Center is predicting a chance of rain for the WABBLES area with greater chances and heavier totals to our east. (WPC)

Possible Rain on Thursday

While none of the showers for the WABBLES area look as widespread or as heavy as those impacting the eastern half of the state, we still can’t rule out the possibility of rain. As of right now, Thursday looks to be the driest day of the week so far. However, the weather models are still showing shower chances during the afternoon with minor accumulations.

This quantitative precipitation forecast (QPF) map shows that by Friday morning, our area could receive nearly 0.5″ of rain with much higher totals in the eastern portion of the state. (WPC)

The afternoon high temperature will remain similar to today and Wednesday in the low-70s. Overall, Thursday looks like your best bet for outdoor activities as far as long breaks between the rain goes.

That concludes today’s post! Remember to follow @wxornotBG on Twitter and like our page on Facebook to stay up to date on all the showers expected this week. Have a great Tuesday!
