Hot Summer Weather Leads the Way for Rain Chances

Hello everyone, and welcome to Thursday! Glad you could make it this morning. After an unusually wet start to 2019, we’re really starting to dry out. Luckily, hot summer weather will lead the way for rain chances in the coming days.

It’s been pretty dry, so we’ll welcome the rain! (Giphy)

Dry Day for Thursday

We’re starting our day off with a Dense Fog Advisory that’s valid until 8 AM. However, even after it expires, watch for some patchy fog on the roads and slow down. It should burn off by mid-morning. After that, highs will top in the upper 80’s under partly cloudy skies. Expect the rain to hold off today, though.

Thanks to the cloud cover, lows tonight will only drop to about 70 degrees.

Cold Front Approaches Friday

All the clouds we see Thursday is brought to us by a cold front approaching from our north. It will creep closer on Friday bringing some shower and thunderstorm activity to our region by the afternoon. Heavy rain could be possible with some storms, so we will watch that closely.

Otherwise, highs will hang out around 85 degrees and lows won’t get too cool as overnight temperatures will only dip into the low 70’s.

More Showers for Saturday Before the Heat Ramps Up

As the cold front passes Friday night, we could see some lingering showers develop Saturday morning, but models are still in disagreement. Anything that develops shouldn’t be too heavy, though. Highs Saturday will be in the mid-80’s again thanks to the clouds keeping us shaded.

As we head into the new week, a high pressure begins to build over our area that will bring some toasty temperatures. Highs are looking to be in the 90’s at this point. However, it wont last long, as another cold front makes it’s way towards our area on Monday bringing the next round of rain chances.

That finishes today’s forecast. Thanks for reading! Follow our live weather feed @wxornotBG, as well as on Facebook, for all your weather updates. Have a wonderful Thursday!
