Summertime Pattern Returns for the New Week

It’s been a pleasant week or so around the area with lower humidity and milder temperatures that has been long-awaited around the area. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end as a summertime pattern returns for the new week.

Sunday, Muggy Sunday

Summer weather has just about returned for us already on an otherwise gorgeous-looking morning.

Readings this morning are mostly between 70-75° around the area.

And those readings are to be expected in the summertime on the back side of a high pressure system, where you’re getting nice southwesterly flow pumping in more warmth and moisture from the Gulf of Mexico.

This means we’ve got another hot and humid afternoon on our hands. High temperatures will top out near 90° for us under mostly sunny skies, another great day to get on the pool or the lake…just don’t forget the sunscreen.

Another mild night tonight with low temperatures only falling to about 70° while staying mostly clear and dry.

Nighttime Rain Chances After Summery Monday

Rain chances are back as we head into the later portions of ye olde forecast period as we await a cold front trying to march in from the west.

We’ll start out the same as we’ve been during the daytime hours, with mostly sunny skies and highs topping out in the upper 80s near 90°, with the slight chance of an afternoon storm…but the best chance for rain will be overnight.

Because we’re dealing with this front overnight and the ingredients aren’t the best, we’re not really talking a severe weather threat but the rumblers might wake you up overnight. Outside of the storms, low temperatures fall back to near 70°.

Starting to Clear out for Midweek

We’ll be waiting to see how fast the front moves through the area on Tuesday to see how quickly we both dry out and clear out. If the front hangs up a little bit, we could see storms linger into Tuesday afternoon.

Increased cloud cover will impact highs, only allowing them to get up to around 85° for Tuesday. We’ll slowly clear the clouds out later on Tuesday night for a low near 65°.

As usual, in the summertime, fronts don’t actually usher in much cooler or dryer air and that will be the case with this one as the remainder of the week looks more like a typical summer week, but with mostly sunny skies instead of widespread scattered storms. Highs top out in the upper 80s nearly everyday with overnight lows hovering near 70°.
