Temperatures Rise as Thunderstorms Stick Around

Greetings, everyone! Happy Thursday morning. If you’re tired of the rain, you aren’t alone, but we do have chances for sunshine soon! This pattern we’ve been stuck in is finally starting to change! As we roll into the weekend, we’ll see temperatures rise as thunderstorms stick around.

Rain Keeps Temperatures Cool Thursday

We’re starting off this Thursday morning at the 70 degree mark, and thanks to the clouds and rain we won’t climb too far past 80 degrees as the high today. Thunderstorms will continue through the morning hours before pushing off to our east and finally giving us the chance to dry out.

Once this cold front passes, it could get a little breezy later today with winds blowing near 15 mph. Higher wind gusts are possible though. The wind will help drive the clouds out, leaving clearer conditions tonight. Lows will end up in the cool mid-60’s.

A Break from the Rain Friday

A weak high pressure will follow behind the cold front that moves through today bringing some opportunities for sunshine. About time! But with the summer sun also comes hot and humid conditions. Temperatures will begin to rise into the mid-80’s but could feel closer to 90 degrees when dew points are factored in. Just make sure to stay hydrated.

Models disagree on our precipitation chances for Friday night, however. One keeps the showers and thunderstorms off to our west, while others bring the rain our way. Regardless, rain chances return Friday night and into the weekend. The break was nice while it lasted! Lows will drop to the low 70’s.

Summer Shows Up and Brings the Heat

Temperatures continue to rise as we head into Saturday with highs soaring to the low 90’s. Dew points will be in the mid-70’s, making for some pretty uncomfortable conditions. Make sure to take breaks indoors if you’re spending a lot of time outside. We also have the potential for some severe weather Saturday if storms pop up, so we’ll watch that closely. Preliminary threats are damaging winds and heavy rain.

One word: HOT. (NAM)

The heat and humidity continues into the start of next week with highs near 90 again for Sunday and Monday. Thunderstorm chances also stick around before we get another opportunity for dry weather towards the middle of next week.
