Good morning, folks, and happy Wednesday! After an impeccable weather-wise day yesterday, we will have a brief wave of showers for our Wednesday.
Morning Showers, A Few Possible This Afternoon
A surface low pressure system has developed in response to an atmospheric disturbance, which is located to our northwest. This weakening system will bring scattered rain showers from the northwest into the area.
The main timing for rain showers is during the mid morning hours, mostly before 1 PM. Rain showers should remain rather light and scattered, and no major impacts are expected.
There is a possibility of some afternoon storms to develop across the area, but this is with low confidence. Temperatures will again be around the 70ºF for the high. By the evening hours, skies should remain mostly cloudy. Temperatures will drop to around 55ºF, and with calm winds, some fog will be expected during the overnight hours.
Sunny Days Ahead, Major Warm Up Coming
Just as quickly as they’ll come, the rain showers will quickly move out of the area. High pressure out over the Atlantic will help keep skies dry and warm temperatures up.
Thursday: After the morning fog burns off, skies will be mostly sunny. Winds will be out of the southwest, which will help get temperatures back up to normal for this time of year. High temperatures will reach 81ºF.
A few clouds will linger during the overnight hours, as temperatures dip to 65ºF. The low temperatures in the 60s will be quite a change from the 40s we’ve had.
Friday: The end of the work week will be almost identical to Thursday. Sunny skies will continue, but with a bit warmer temperatures. High temperatures will max out at 86ºF, again with southwest winds.
Friday evening will be a great night to grill, as skies will remain clear. Temperatures will again drop to around 65ºF, which will make for a perfect night for a blanket and a backyard fire.
Weekend Outlook
The weekend looks to have a mix of rain and shine. Saturday will be another sunny day, but temperatures could be in the neighborhood of 90ºF. Definitely wear sunscreen for any outdoor activities. Sunday brings the possible return for some springtime showers and storms.
That wraps up today’s forecast. Hope you have a great Wednesday and rest of the week! Make sure to look for the Afternoon Video Update on Facebook and the Afternoon Weather Story on Twitter/Instagram, only on @wxornotBG.
