Sweet Sunday in Store, with Major Warm up Coming

Good morning, folks! Hope everyone has had a fantastic weekend! We have a sweet Sunday in store, with a major warm up coming up to start the week thereafter!

Clouds Break up Later Today

Most of you are going to be waking up this morning to thick, low-level cloud cover across the region this morning. This has filtered in (along with some cooler temps) behind a cold front that passed last night.

Along with this, some breezy northwesterly winds have developed as well. This is really what is helping keeping us a bit cooler than normal today.

The northwesterly winds may be gusty at times, especially this morning. This should taper off this afternoon as the main storm moves off to our northeast.

The reason I think today is going to be sweet is because I am anticipating fantastic weather this afternoon, especially as clouds break from overcast into partly sunny into sunny.

Highs should only reach the mid and upper 60s, and with a dry environment, it will feel amazing outside. Be sure to get that afternoon run (or other outdoor activity) in!

Warm up to Start the Work Week

The quick hitting low/high pressure combo that is rolling through the region as I type will quickly lose its influence over our weather. Well, at least the low will.

The high pressure will move to our east and combine with a new surface low to our west to really up our surface flow our of the southwest. This will help warm us up tomorrow despite cloud cover.

Underneath partly sunny skies for much of the day, southwesterly flow gusting into the 15-25 mph range will help us to warm up into the lower 80s for highs!

Tuesday is looking pretty similar, but without the constant clouds. Instead, Tuesday looks much more partly cloudy in nature across our region.

This will lead to highs hitting the mid 80s with southwesterly flow continuing. If you like the 80s (temperature wise or decade wise), this is the week for you!

Beyond Tuesday, our rain chances begin to increase. A slow moving front with multiple waves of low pressure looks to set up shop to our west by Wednesday evening, and slowly make its way beyond our region by Friday night.

Highs in the Wed. – Thur. time span are expected to be in the mid and upper 70s, with Friday’s temps falling into the 60s behind said front.
