Mostly Sunny Wednesday

There is not much change in the forecast today. High pressure located over the southeast coast will continue to bring mostly sunny skies to our area.

The high pressure system will be moving off the coast, allowing for our next weather system to come knocking on our door. More clouds will be filtering in tonight, but temperatures should only drop to around 45º – 47ºF tonight.

Rain Chances Finally Arrive on Thursday

All good things must come to an end, but luckily this weather system should be brief. A messy low pressure system will bring rain chances Thursday afternoon.

There is some model differences on the timing of the rain arrival. However, models are agreeing that rain showers will move into the area during the afternoon/evening hours. NAM is hinting that rain will be knocking on our door by 1 pm.

A few thunderstorms are possible, but no severe weather is expected. Temperatures will max out around 66º – 68º during the afternoon, with winds out of the south around 10 mph. Gusts up to 20 mph will be possible as well. Rainfall totals during the afternoon should be around a quarter of an inch, with higher amounts possible with thunderstorms.

Showers should continue into the nighttime hours. Temperatures will dip to around 53º – 56ºF. Wind will still be out of the south up to 10 mph. Rainfall totals overnight should be around a quarter of an inch as well.

Rain Showers Exit Friday

Luckily, the rain showers will be heading out of town by the morning hours on Friday. Overall total rainfall from Thursday afternoon into the overnight hours of Friday morning could total up to half an inch. The NAM suggests that rain showers will be east of our area by 7am on Friday.

We will be between a high pressure to our far east, and a low pressure to our far west, which will keep winds out of the south.

Skies should remain mostly cloudy. Temperatures will again be in the neighborhood of 68º – 70ºF. Winds will be out of the south once again, but should be light. Low temperatures will be around 54º – 56º, under mostly cloudy skies.
