Sunny Wednesday Before Rain Chances Return

Howdy, friends, and Happy Wednesday! I hope you’ve had a wonderful week thus far. A high pressure system located over the Great Lakes region continues to dominate our area, leading to a sunny Wednesday before rain chances return.

Wednesday

Today will be a perfect autumn day to enjoy some time outdoors. High temperatures for today will peak in the upper 50’s to low 60’s. Sunny skies and no precipitation is expected today.

Winds will be out of the east-northeast at 5-10 mph due to the high pressure. Low temperatures for tonight will dip into the low 40’s.

Thursday

You can expect mostly cloudy skies for majority of the day tomorrow, with rain chances arriving Thursday evening. High temperatures for tomorrow will top out in the upper 50’s once again. While most of the day will be nice, Thursday night will be wet and cool.

A low pressure system skirting along the Gulf Coast will bring showers to our area beginning Thursday night. Rain showers are possible overnight into Friday. Low temperatures will be in the mid 40’s.

Friday

Friday will be the gloomy day of the week. I know this is not what you want to see, but at least we can only get better from here. Friday will kick off the weekend and WKU Homecoming Parade as a soggy and cool day.

High temperatures are expected to only reach the low 50’s, so a rain jacket or at least an umbrella is recommended before you leave home. Low temperatures for Friday night will drop into the low 40’s once again.

South Central Kentucky could see up to 0.5 inches of rain from Friday morning to Saturday morning. Some locally higher amounts of up to 0.75 inches is also possible for our area. As always, be mindful when out on the roads of standing water, and avoid areas that are known to flood easily and quickly.

That wraps up todays forecast. Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday! Make sure to check back here tomorrow and follow @wxornotBG on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!
