Good Sunday morning everyone! I hope everyone is having a nice, relaxing long weekend. It definitely has felt like summer out there, as meteorological fall is not starting off like fall at all.
Isolated Storms for Sunday
Today looks to be the “coolest” of the next few days. That is pretty horrible news, so take a moment to prepare for it.
It has been hot the past few days, and today will be no different. Highs are expected to climb into the upper 80s (89ºF-90ºF) this afternoon, and dewpoints in the upper 60s/lower 70s will make it unbearable.
That is, unless you’re at a lake or a pool. Then this weather is pretty much perfect for you!
For everyone else, though, just a typical summertime pattern honestly. Isolated storms are also expected this afternoon (what is new?), so keep an eye on the radar and get inside if you hear thunder!
Monday and Tuesday Look Toasty
I’ll keep it simple: the heat early this week looks to be a step up from the regular heat we have seen lately.
We have a strong ridge building into the region, and this will make it even hotter than it has been over the past week or so.
I’m pretty bummed about it, but I will be fine. Highs both Monday and Tuesday should get well into the low 90s (91ºF-93ºF), and may touch the mid 90s.
Afternoon cumulus clouds should help to provide brief relief from the heat, but not enough to be happy. A very isolated storm is possible, but they aren’t expected to be widespread at all.
Heat Likely to Last
This ridge doesn’t really look like it is going anywhere. Be prepared to sweat and hate summer for at least another week.
The only chance we have at break through this is with a potential tropical system moving through our region midweek. Nothing is set in stone, but there is the possibility of this.
We’ll keep an eye on it!
Well, that is all I have for you fine folks! Have a fantastic day, and be sure to follow @wxornotBG on all social media platforms for the latest info!
