A Week Full of Storms and High Temperatures

Good morning! Happy Monday, hope you all had a great weekend. A week full of storms and high temperatures is expected for Southcentral Kentucky.

Today

This morning may consist of showers and some storms may follow due to a mid-level trough.

The trough will create lift throughout the atmosphere which will result in the showers and thunderstorms for our region. Temperatures will rise into the low-80s. A low-pressure system located in the center of the trough will draw in heat and moisture from the Gulf with the southwesterly winds.

The rain chance will continue into tonight as the temperatures decrease into the mid-60s.

The low-pressure system will be located over Kentucky by Tuesday morning. The low will create more lift in the atmosphere above us which will eventually cause even more showers and thunderstorms. Another hot day is expected as the high temperature will hit right around 80°.

Tomorrow night will be cool with temperatures in the 60s and scattered thunderstorms.

Wednesday

A cold front will be moving over Kentucky on Wednesday which may cause stronger thunderstorms. Some showers and storms may follow into the evening. High temperatures will make for a humid environment between storms.
