Howdy folks, the heat wave looks to peak today with sunny skies, high humidity, and temperatures in the 90’s under a high pressure system. Fortunately, this scorching pattern will become wetter making today dangerously hot before rain chances return tomorrow.
Dangerously Hot Today
Get ready for a very hot day with the humidity making it feel like over 100 degrees across our region. In this extreme heat, take the proper precautions to stay safe outside by drinking lots of water, taking frequent activity breaks, using sunscreen, and enjoying the outdoors during the morning and evening when it will feel a little cooler.
Rain Chances Return Tomorrow
Starting tomorrow morning, scattered thunderstorms are possible as the high pressure over our region weakens. Luckily, no severe is expected at this point. The clouds should hold the temperatures down slightly to the upper 80’s, and it could feel even better during the rains if you don’t mind the increased humidity.
Monday afternoon will probably also feature scattered thunderstorms. The high will be in the upper 80’s, but by Tuesday the shower chances will decrease and the max temperatures will rise slightly to the low 90’s.
4th of July: Heat and Maybe Pop Up Storms
Wednesday is looking very hot, feeling like triple digits for much of the afternoon. Starting your Independence Day party beside a pool or in the evening would be a good move to avoid the heat. At this point, some isolated, pop up storms are also possible, so keep a cover for the picnic table come Wednesday afternoon.
