Forecast Discussion

Sooo… anybody a fan of this recent muggy and stormy weather?

(Giphy/Best Brains)

Well, I have good news and I have bad news.

The good news is that it won’t be so bad this weekend. The bad news is that we have to get through today first and folks, it’s gonna be quite muggy. In fact, we’re starting off quite foggy this morning.

But the silver lining is that Friday looks dry and that’s good because it’s been rather wet lately; we need time to dry out.

Doesn’t mean it won’t be a bit on the toasty side. (Pivotal Weather)

Our only issue might be later at night when a weakening line of storms may make a run at us late. Based on the current trends, I think most of us will stay dry, but the chance is there for a soaker late tonight.

Today: Dense Fog Advisory in effect until 8:00 AM. Mostly sunny skies and humid. High around 87º. Chance of a storm later at night, otherwise partly cloudy, falling back to around 70º.

  • Wake up: 🌤 70°
  • Lunch hour: 🌤 84°
  • Afternoon plans: 🌤 88°
  • Evening time: 🌤 80°

Things look similar, if not slightly better to formally start the weekend.

Those storms that look to sideswipe us tonight are along a cold front that’s going to sweep through the area and providing us at least some relief from all the steam.

I said some relief, not total relief. (Pivotal Weather)

I know, dew points in the mid-60s doesn’t sound that much different, but trust me, it’ll feel that much more comfortable outside tomorrow. Especially with temperatures coming down a couple of notches.

Tomorrow: Mostly sunny skies and a high around 85º. Clear skies prevail at night and we’ll fall back to around 62º at night.

  • Wake up: 🌤 70°
  • Lunch hour: 🌤 80°
  • Afternoon plans: 🌤 84°
  • Evening time: 🌤 75°

Sunday just may be the pick of the weekend.

Humidity will be even just a hair lower, as will the temperatures as high pressure continues it’s dominance of the Ohio Valley. And that makes for a great Sunday afternoon. I mean, there’s really not much left to say about that. Get out and enjoy it!

Sunday: More mostly sunny skies and more highs in the mid-80s. At night, mostly clear skies once again and falling back to around 65º.

  • Wake up: 🌤 65°
  • Lunch hour: 🌤 84°
  • Afternoon plans: 🌤 85°
  • Evening time: 🌤 75°

Today’s Key Points

  • Mostly sunny today but still hot and humid.
  • Perhaps a stray storm tonight but mostly dry.
  • Humidity begins falling as high pressure takes over on Saturday.
  • More of the same on the way for Sunday.

That just about does it for me! Thanks for checking into wxornotBG this morning, and be sure to follow @wxornotBG and @WKUweather on Twitter and like Landon Hampton on Facebook for the latest weather information throughout the day.
