Happy second day of July, everybody! Also, happy boring weather day! Nothing makes me more excited than to walk outside to the most boring, hot, and humid weather ever (sarcasm). In fact, I may start a band called Hot’n Humid with our first single ‘Boring’. Raise your hand if you’d be interested!

Overall Set-Up
The cold front that plagued us the last couple of days has moved to south central Kentucky on the Kentucky/Tennessee border. With this frontal boundary still in place, there is the possibility of some pop-up, isolated showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. By tomorrow, the front looks to move south and east out of our area.

Through Wednesday night (including your Fourth of July), the upper-level wind pattern is zonal, meaning that the east-west component is dominant. While our region has zonal flow aloft, the mid-west and western portion of the US has ridge/trough pattern. The aforementioned trough looks to be our next “weather-maker” on Thursday.

What That Means For Us
Summer-like weather has made its dreaded return. All this means is that it’s gonna be hot and humid. That’s it. Pretty much every day there is a chance for some pop-up, isolated showers in the afternoon due to daytime heating, but that’s it. Otherwise, get ready to sweat a lot!
