Real Time Radar:
Yesterday’s Weather
Yesterday was one of the worst forecasts I’ve ever put together. But, that’s going to happen from time to time. Thick cloud cover and precipitation kept the high temperature at 61° instead of making a run to 70°. The low of 52° was recorded at 11:40 PM. 1.49 inches of rain was recorded at the Bowling Green airport thanks to the heavy rain and thunderstorms!

Forecast Discussion
The cold front that passed to the south of the region last night may retreat north some during the day today. This will allow south-central Kentucky to be closer to forcing along the front this afternoon. Thus a few showers and thunderstorms may be possible. No severe weather is expected at this time. There is a better chance for thunder to the southeast of the region. Highs should top out around 56°.
Patchy drizzle and flurries may be possible tonight as the vorticity maximum rotates around north of the region. Expect drizzle to give way to isolated flurries. All precipitation should come to an end around 3 AM as dry air filters into the region. Lows will be around 28°.
Thursday looks much better as far as dry and sunny, especially in the afternoon and evening. However, temperature will take quite the plunge as the cold front dives well to our south. Highs will be in the mid 30s across the region, which will actually be between 10 and 15 degrees colder than average for this time of year!
With mostly clear skies overnight, expect temperatures to drop down into the low 20s across the region. This will also be a few degrees below normal for this time of year. Bundle up if you’ll be out and about!
Friday looks like a fantastic day! Upper level ridging will move into place, as well as a southwesterly low level jet. Despite southwest flow in the lower levels, expect conditions to remain sunny and warm. Highs should rebound nicely to the mid 50s, back to above normal! Southwest flow continues overnight and some clouds may develop. Lows only look to drop into the upper 40s!
Looking Ahead
A few spotty showers may develop on Saturday as highs soar into the mid 60s. However, a better chance of rain is forecast Sunday evening as high temperatures continue into the mid to upper 60s. No strong or severe storms are forecast at this time. We’ll be keeping an eye on a surface low Wednesday and Thursday of next week. As of now, the forecast track is favorable for wintry mischief, however temperatures may be a bit too warm for us to have any fun. Stay tuned!
