That was one heck of a rollercoaster Bowling Green had yesterday…and rainy too. Our high occurred mid-afternoon and then the temperature only went down from there. According to NWS data, Bowling Green reached it’s high of 71º a little before 3pm…3 hours later it was 54º. Now that’s a front!

Today: Showers likely early in the day before tapering off in the afternoon. High around 45ºF. A 50% chance of rain lingers into the overnight hours, lows only dropping to around 40ºF.

Tomorrow: Cloudy with showers, mainly in the afternoon, highs jump to around 55ºF. Overnight, the shower chances persist, but are more likely early. Low around 45ºF.

Sunday: More showers, especially early in the day, high once again around 55ºF. At night, we’ll finally be between systems long enough to stay dry. Low still only around 50ºF.

Forecast Discussion

*Checks calendar* January, right? Someone forgot to tell Mother Nature because it’s been mild, mild, mild over the past few days. That’s all thanks to these pesky troughs that won’t leave us alone. The reason today’s not nearly as warm as yesterday is thanks to a cold front that worked it’s way across the region early today.

This cold front will keep us cool today but stall just south of our region and start to lift back to the north as a warm front on Saturday, bringing us warmth once again, along with rain. It won’t rain all day but when it does, the rain could be heavy at times.

In fact this cold front will drop the temperatures enough before the next system arrives that some freezing rain will be possible well to our north as the rain starts to fall, but no worries, Bowling Green will see all rain.

In fact, some models are trying to keep the bulk of Saturday dry as kind of a day in between systems before more rain moves in on Sunday. Though, these look to be more scattered showers than an all day washout.

Rainfall totals for this weekend look to be around an inch of rain and since it’s been so wet lately, this could easily lead to flooding throughout the region, so you’ll want to keep an eye on the forecast if you live in a flood prone area.

In addition to the rainy conditions, thanks to our current pattern, temperatures are going to be well above normal not just during the next few days but into next week as well. The good news is at least temps stay nice when it’s not raining.

A front has cooled our temperatures into the low 40s but rain remains in the forecast for Friday
Temperatures warm back up Saturday with showers possible.
Sunday looks rainy too as another system moves in.
Same thing for Monday.
