Improving Bowling Green Weather

Real-time Bowling Green Weather Radar

Yesterday’s Weather

As we had been talking about for several days, the weather yesterday was quite dreary and gloomy. It had been raining during the morning, and clouds had been prevalent even after that. The afternoon had scattered showers, as well. Highs were in the mid 60s. Though it was gloomy, I really enjoyed the weather for once recently!

Discussion

Well, the well advertised cutoff low has been creating an incredibly gloomy pattern across the region the past few days.

It has been cloudy, rainy and cool outside. This has been such a welcome relief from what we have been dealing with before this week. The 60s have been really quite amazing, and I am not too sure I am ready for the cutoff low to leave.

However, all good things must come to an end at some point, right? Today is the last real day of cutoff low action, and the weather will be a lot like it has been the past few days. Clouds will be moving on through the region, with isolated showers moving through throughout the day.

Not everyone will see rain, but everyone will see the clouds and cool temps. Highs will be in the mid 60s, and lows tonight will fall into the mid 50s under mostly cloudy skies. Tomorrow really begins the process of building normal weather back in.

The cutoff low moves almost entirely out of our region by Sunday evening, leaving behind much improving conditions for most of us. We should be see mostly cloudy skies in the morning, with clearing skies by the afternoon. Expect highs into the mid 70s.

Overnight, look for partly cloudy skies, with lows in the mid 50s. By Monday, we’ll be in full nice weather mode.

You’ll need to break the sunglasses back out by the afternoon, as the sunshine increases and partly cloudy skies are the only source of clouds. Highs should end up in the mid and upper 70s, making for a fantastic day.

Overnight Monday night, look for mostly clear skies, with lows in the mid 50s.

Extended Outlook

The long term outlook is a bit convoluted, as Hurricane Matthew’s future track is difficult to nail down right now, and there are certain paths he could take that would impact our weather. Despite this, there is increasing confidence that a trough will be moving into the region next week that could knock our temps down a  bit.
