Hope Is on the Horizon for Bowling Green Weather

Real-time Bowling Green Weather Radar

Yesterday’s Weather

Like the rest of the past 4 or 5 days, yesterday was just boring weather wise. It was nice, but that doesn’t mean it was interesting! Hahaha. As I will discuss later on, there is hope on the horizon. However, right now, the regime is sunny, warm and boring.

Discussion

I really can’t believe how boringly warm the weather has been over the past few days. It is almost wild!

Overall, that will continue through this period, but this is the last period that that will occur, and I am too hype about that. I will have what looks to be a challenging forecast ahead, and that’ll be fun.

The next few days will be dominated by the same ridge that I have discussed all week. It will become a bit amplified on Saturday ahead of a trough, but otherwise, it should be fairly normal. This ridge isn’t very strong, so that is nice, and is largely why we haven’t seen any ridiculously high numbers yet.

Dewpoints have also been lower this week, which has kept outdoor activities in the “comfortable” zone, and that is really, really nice. Overall, the weather has actually been pretty nice this week. However, it has been exponentially more boring than any week I can remember. So what does this all mean for the forecast?

Well, the ridge remaining our main forcer for out sensible weather, this means very little. The next few days will be very similar to the three days prior to it. Look for mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies during the day across the region, through Sunday. Expect highs in the upper 80s and lower 90s across the region, with dewpoints remaining bearable.

The overnight periods are where stuff begins to get interesting. Tonight and tomorrow night, nothing interesting looks to happen. Sunday night? Our “Hope on the horizon” that I referred to is forecast to begin making its presence at least somewhat known, with cloudy skies and chances for rainfall.

Lows should be in the mid 60s tonight and Saturday night, with low 70s expected for lows on Sunday night.

Extended Outlook

THERE IS HOPE. The models have struggled mightily with this system and how it should eventually evolve, so it has been tough to draw any conclusions as to what may happen this coming week. However, it looks as if a significant trough is going to dig into the central and eastern United States, and cool us down quite a bit. We still have several days to iron out the details right now, but it looks like we may see a major cool down into the middle of next week. So, be watching, as we’ll have updates on that as needed!
